Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Ken Ireland

Dr. Ireland graduated from Iowa State University and has been practicing veterinary medicine for over 3 decades.  His professional interests are cardiology and internal medicine.  When not at work he enjoys spending time with his wife Cindy. He is proud his daughter and son  have chosen careers in the medical field as well.  He also enjoys staying fit, camping, boating and vacationing in the tropics.

Dr. Scott Cammack

Dr. Cammack graduated from Iowa State University in 2001 and is a native of Meade County.  He and his wife Jeannie and their 4 children reside in Sturgis.  His professional interest is large animal medicine.  When not working (which is NOT very often) he enjoys spending time with his family and attending his children's activities.

Dr. Lance Serbousek

  Dr. Lance graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2015, and is native of Kansas City {GO CHIEFS}.  Before Dr. Lance started here as a veterinarian he spent many summers helping out at the clinic.  His professional interests are small animal orthopedics and neurology.  When not working, Dr. Lance and his wife Natalie are an active family that enjoy the outdoors, cross fit, as well as water sports at the lake.  The thing that Dr. Serbousek is most proud of is the addition of their two children, who manage to keep Dr. Lance and his wife on their toes!

Dr. Jenny Porter

Dr. Porter was raised on a small cow-calf operation near Geddes, SD.  She graduated from Iowa State University in 2018.  Upon graduation, Jenny married her husband, Aaron, and promptly moved down to Texas, where she completed an equine internship at Elgin Equine Veterinary Hospital.  Her hobbies include riding horses, working cattle, ranching and spending time with family and friends.  She is also happy anytime she can spend time with her horses; her dog, Patches; or her potbelly pig, Hereford.  She has a strong interest in all categories of equine practice, but also enjoys many aspects of the cattle industry.

Dr. Margie Jones (Ret.)

Dr. Jones recently retired (mostly) from practicing.  Her breeding program will miss her wisdom and experience. but will continue under Dr. Jorgensen.  Margie enjoys traveling, and still works for us as a relief veterinarian on occasion.​

Dr Hatt​ie Cramer

Dr. Cramer graduated from Iowa State University in 2024 and is originally from Camp Crook, SD. Growing up she spent most of her time at her grandma Pauline Holsti’s ranch just north of Camp Crook where they raised Hereford and Angus cattle and sheep. Dr. Cramer finds joy in both small and large animal medicine and has a strong passion for the cattle industry. In small animal, her interests currently are in soft tissue surgery and dermatology. For large animal, Dr. Cramer enjoys many aspects of equine medicine and production animal medicine regarding beef cattle and sheep (including feedlot). She is a proud member of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP) and looks forward to providing services to the community for both pet owners and livestock producers. During her free time, Dr. Cramer enjoys riding her horse Blizzard, spending time with her cat Sylvester and the ranch dog Tilly, checking cows at the family ranch, and spending time with friends and family.

Dr. Carl Johnson (Ret.)

Dr. Johnson is a 5th generation resident of Meade County.  He graduated for Iowa State University many moons ago.  Dr. Johnson retired from practice on May 1st, 2021.  He will be making himself available for limited contract cases.  He is currently enjoying traveling and living his hard-earned retirement to the fullest.

Dr.  Kat Jorgensen

​Dr. Kat Jorgensen was raised in Washington state and graduated from Washington State University in 2022. She then practiced for several years in rural mixed animal medicine in South Dakota before completing an equine internship at Anoka Equine in Minnesota.  Her veterinary equine interests include reproduction, sports medicine and emergency care. She also enjoys all aspects of general cow-calf medicine. Outside of work she enjoys riding her two horses with her husband, hiking with her dog Bear and spending time with friends and family.
